Job Summary
Supports the Lead, Treasury Management & Investor Relations by performing detailed financial analysis, managing cash flow, and assisting with investment and funding activities. This role involves monitoring financial markets, preparing reports, and ensuring the organization’s liquidity and financial stability. The Treasury Officer plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of the treasury function and reports directly to the Lead, Treasury Management & Investor Relations
Job Details
Treasury and Liquidity Support:
- Monitor daily cash positions and ensure adequate liquidity to meet the organization’s operational needs.
- Manage bank accounts and maintain relationships with banking partners.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow forecasts.
- Assist in managing the organization’s debt portfolio, including tracking debt maturities and interest payments.
- Support the evaluation and execution of funding opportunities.
- Maintain relationships with financial institutions and lenders.
- Continuously evaluate and improve treasury processes and procedures.
- Implement best practices in treasury management and financial analysis.
- Stay informed about advancements in treasury management technologies and tools.
- Identify and assess financial risks related to cash management, investments, and funding.
- Assist in implementing internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
- Monitor compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Prepare detailed financial analysis and reports to support treasury activities.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations for senior management and the board of directors.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data and reports
Investment Analysis:
- Assist in developing and managing the organization’s investment portfolio.
- Conduct market research and analysis to support investment decisions.
- Monitor the performance of investments and provide regular reports to senior management
Investor Relations Support:
- Assist in preparing financial reports and presentations for investors.
- Support communication and engagement activities with investors and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of investor communications and feedback
Other Functions:
- Conduct research and market intelligence as directed and guided by the Group Treasurer
- Provide strategic support to the team, through prompt and timely update and dissemination of market information and intelligence.
- Support with rates monitoring and regular review.
- Develop market information data base, referencing historic market information for the Treasury’s use.
- Daily FX update on micro and macro market economy as it relates to Credit Direct.
- Provide market feedback and market dynamics.
- Disseminates market information in a timely useful, actionable format to support risk taking and revenue making potential.
- Collect data on competitors and marketplace and consolidate information into actionable items, reports and presentations.
- Perform valid and reliable market research SWOT analysis.
- Interpretation of data, formulation of reports and make recommendations.
- Use online market research and catalogue findings to databases.
- Provide competitive analysis on various companies’ market offerings, identify market trends, pricing/business models and methods of operation.
- Remain fully informed on market trends, other parties research and implement best practices.
- Proffers ideas on market development.
- Analyse the impact of international and local markets on Credit Direct.
- Investigating market activity.
- Analysing published data and statistics.
- Evaluating past performance of a product or investments.
- Assessing future trends.
- Support the Treasurer with liquidity monitoring analysis.
- Responsible for other duties assigned by the Lead, Treasury and Investor Relations from time to time
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- A relevant professional qualification (CFA, LFA, ICAP) in Accounting or Finance
- 2-4 years of experience in treasury, finance, or a related field.
- Experience in the financial services or consumer lending industry is an added advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of financial markets, investment strategies, and risk management.
- Proficiency in treasury management systems and financial software.
